By downloading, accessing, or using the WordBase application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. These Terms work together with our Privacy Policy.
WordBase is a multiplayer word game. You place letter tiles on a board to form words, and words are checked against the dictionary of the language you are playing in. The App offers several game modes, private and public tables, friend lists, in-game and direct messaging, daily missions, leaderboards, and weekly leagues. Game rules, board layouts, scoring, and the dictionary used for a language may be adjusted over time to keep play balanced and fair.
"Coin" is the App's virtual in-game currency. Coins are used to enter tables, pay league subscriptions, and buy in-game items. The following apply and are important:
Tables may have an entry amount in Coins. When you sit at such a table, the entry amount is deducted from your balance and added to that table's pot. When the game ends, the pot is paid to the winner, less a service fee of up to 10% retained by us. In the event of a draw, or if a game is ended early, the pot is settled according to the rules in effect at the time. Entry amounts, pot calculation, and payout are performed on our servers; the result shown by our servers is authoritative.
This is not gambling. Entry amounts are paid in Coins, which cannot be purchased with a promise of return and cannot be converted into money. No cash prize is offered and no winnings can be withdrawn. Whether you win or lose a table, nothing of monetary value changes hands.
The App offers an optional premium membership and optional purchases of Coin packages and in-game items. The following apply:
The App shows advertisements. Premium members do not see standard advertisements. The App also offers optional rewarded advertisements: you may choose to watch one in exchange for Coins or a bonus. Watching is always your choice and never required to keep playing. Where required, you will be asked for your advertising consent preferences, and on iOS you may decline app tracking without losing access to the App. Details of what ad partners receive are in our Privacy Policy.
Leagues run in weekly seasons and require a subscription paid in Coins. Placement, promotion, and relegation are calculated from play during a season. Seasons reset, and league standings, tiers, and leaderboards may be recalculated, corrected, or reset — including where we detect manipulation. A league subscription paid in Coins is not refundable once the season has begun.
The App only works if games are honest. The following are strictly prohibited:
Where we detect a violation, we may reverse affected Coin movements, reset statistics or standings, restrict messaging, or suspend or terminate the account.
Messages and reports you write remain yours. You grant us only the limited right to store and transmit them so the App can deliver them to their intended recipient and so we can act on reports. You are responsible for what you write. The App provides tools to block a player and to report content; we may review reported content and remove it or act on the account that sent it.
The App, its design, and its game content are the property of IDL Dynamics, except for content submitted by users as described in Section 9. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, or create derivative works from any part of the App. Word lists are used for the purpose of validating play within the App only.
We may add, change, suspend, or remove game modes, rules, prices, economy values, and features, and we may take the service down for maintenance. We aim to keep such changes reasonable and, where they materially affect purchases you have already made, to honour what you have paid for.
We may suspend or terminate access to the App if these Terms are violated, in particular the fair-play rules in Section 8. You may stop using the App and permanently delete your account at any time from the App's settings, or by using our account deletion page. Deleting your account deletes your Coin balance, items, and league standing; none of these can be restored afterwards.
You must be old enough to use the App under the laws of your country. The App is not directed at children under 13, and purchasing or spending Coins is not designed for users under that age. If you access the App from a location where any part of the service is restricted or unavailable, please do not use that part of the service.
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Network availability, device behaviour, and matchmaking timing are outside our control, and we do not guarantee that every game will complete without interruption or that every dictionary entry is free of error. To the maximum extent permitted by law, IDL Dynamics is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including losses related to your Coin balance, a lost or interrupted game, or matchmaking outcomes. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
